The body of a young girl whose body was found inside the Ramsey home in Boulder, Colorado, has been found.
JonBenét Ramsey’s mother, Patsy Ramsey, has released a statement saying that the discovery of the young girl’s remains has confirmed that the murder of her daughter took place.
The girl was found on Saturday in the basement of her Boulder home, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
The Boulder County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release a cause of death for the girl, but police have said she was shot and killed.
The medical examiner’s office did not provide details about the girl’s age or age range.
It is not clear whether she is a victim of a crime or a suspect in the case.
A search warrant has been issued for the house in Boulder where JonBenets remains were found.
The Ramsey family said that the child’s body was not discovered on Saturday, but was found early Sunday morning.
The family has not yet released a description of the child, but said that she has dark hair and blue eyes.
The child’s name has not been released.
The news comes just days after police released the name of the girl found inside Ramsey’s Boulder home.
Authorities have said that Ramsey, who is presumed to be the father of the two-year-old girl, killed his daughter, who lived with her father and brother.
They have said Ramsey is currently being held in jail in Boulder.
Ramsey’s arrest was announced Wednesday night.
He has been charged with first-degree murder, first-in-the-nation child abuse and tampering with physical evidence.
The Associated Press previously reported that Ramsey’s attorney, David Martin, said in his statement to the media that the Ramsey family did not want to comment on the case, because they have not seen the charges and are waiting to see the autopsy report.
Ramsey, 59, is currently serving a life sentence for killing his daughter.
He was originally charged with murder, but prosecutors dropped the murder charge in February.
Ramsey and his wife, Patsyn, were charged in June 2016 with raping and murdering the girl.
They were each sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
In addition to the murder charges, Ramsey has been indicted on charges of sexual assault of a child, first degree assault of the first degree, child endangerment, endangering the welfare of a dependent and abuse of a corpse.
Ramsey is accused of sexually assaulting and beating the girl in October 2005.
The indictment was sealed pending a jury trial in the first-of-its-kind case against a serial killer in Colorado.
The prosecutor, James B. Weber, has said that police found evidence that the girl was sexually abused by Ramsey.
He also said that a detective with the Boulder Police Department, who was working on the Ramsey case at the time, told investigators that Ramsey may have been involved in the murders.
Ramsey has maintained his innocence in the Ramsey investigation.
